The Annual Toy Run to benefit Shriners' Hospital for Children will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2008. We'll be staging at the Blue Cross parking lot in Berlin, by the airport again this year. The parade will leave sharply at noon and head for the State House in Montpelier.

Bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate. Refreshments and event t-shirts will be available at the staging area. It's an election year so the Governor should be at the State House to greet us.

There are several after the run events.

The Thrush Tavern always has a free BBQ for participants right after the run.

The VNV MC and The Living Stones MM are putting together an after the run party. They are working on bringing as many vets from the VA hospital to the run as possible. We'll add more info when we get it.

I could call in sick, or take half a sick day.

Maybe I can put in extra hours on other days to make up for it. They're not very flexible here.

It would be great to bring the giant biker costume, that would get some attention.

Unless I get tazed by over anxious cops.

Anyone interested in doing this? It is late in the legislative session to actually accomplish anything other than letting our elected officials know that We Ride and We Vote!.

The MOVING WALL has granted a request, from Chapter 753 Vietnam Veterans of America, to visit TAYLOR PARK in the heart of downtown St. Albans, Vermont, from 1200hrs May 15 thru 1700hrs May 19, 2008.
Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association Chapter 26 vt.combatvet.org has been requested to assume full responsibility for providing the Wall’s motorcycle escort from the LA QUINTA HOTEL 813 Fairfax Rd, (Rt. 104S) St. Albans, Vt. to TAYLOR PARK at 0830hrs on May 15th and for overnight security while on display.
Directions to escort staging area:
Walker’s Farm & Home & “On the Run” Mobil 555 Fairfax Rd.**
1. Take EXIT 19 (St. Albans) from I-89
2. Turn RIGHT/NORTH on Fairfax Rd. Rt.104N at the first light. (you can see both Walker’s Farm Home & Tack and the MOBIL Station on the RIGHT) Gas, coffee, munchies and rest rooms are available at the Mobil station.
**Mapquest directions are incorrect! It shows **555 Fairfax Rd. Walkers Farm & Home and “On the Run” Mobil on the South side of Fairfax Rd. after exiting I-89 EXIT 19. In reality it’s on the NORTH side (Rt 104N) so you take a RIGHT after exiting Interstate 89 at EXIT 19 NOT a left.

Our group will LEAVE the Mobil station at 0815hrs and proceed to The LA QUINTA HOTEL 813 FAIRFAX RD. where we will meet the truck carrying the WALL. (approx 0.5 miles)

Security will be provided every evening from 2000hrs to 0800hrs beginning 2000hrs Thursday May 15 thru 0800hrs Monday May 19.
For questions, additional information, or to sign up for nighttime security, contact Mike at bigguysparts@comcast.net
